The solution-processable host material, 3,3’-[bis(9,9’-phenylcarbazol-3-yl)]-benzophenone (PCzBP), containing a donor-type phenylcarbazol unit and an acceptor-type benzophenone unit was synthesized. PCzBP showed high excited triplet energy level and a high photoluminescence quantum efficiency with Ir(mppy)3as a host. Solution-processed green phosphorescent OLEDs using an emitter of Ir(mppy)3 showed high external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 9.8% and long half-lifetime of 365 h at the practical brightness of 1000 cd/m2.
