2018年5月21-25日にアメリカはロサンゼルスで開催される米国ディスプレイ学会（SID, Society for Information Display）にて笹部久宏准教授が特別業績賞（Special Recognition Award）を受賞することになりました。授賞式は5月21日に行われます。受賞タイトルは「For his contributions to the science and technology of multifunctional materials realizing low-power-consumption OLEDs, and for outstanding contributions to the literature」で、有機EL素子の低消費電力化を可能にする多機能性材料の開発と学術論文への顕著な貢献に対して授与されます。本賞は、城戸淳二教授（2002年）、中村修二教授（1996年）も受賞されています。
