Abstract: Masters of glowing potions! A pyridinecarbonitrile derivative, specifically isonicotinotitrile, can generate a novel series of thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) emitters by combining suitable donor unit(s) such as 9,10-dihydro-9,9-dimethylacridine or phenoxazine. These emitters possessed reasonably high photoluminescent quantum yields of 70—79% and led to high-power-efficiency blue-to-green organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with a very low drive voltage and high external quantum efficiency of over 20 %.
